Dr. Oraby teaches Arabic at the George Washington University. Prior to joining GW in 2010, she taught at the American University in Cairo since 2003 and before that at the IH Cairo International Language Institute. Her research inquiry investigates ethically-informed and art-based pedagogy in foreign language education, translanguaging, and multiliteracy. Utilizing theory-informed pedagogy, she continues to work on curricular development and pedagogical innovations in language and literacy education.
