Nazanin Amir Arjmandi

Nazanin Amir Arjmandi is a linguist and educator with more than two decades of university teaching and research experience. She earned her Ph.D. in Linguistics from Islamic Azad University, Science and Research Branch in Tehran, where her doctoral research focused on productivity in Persian compounding. She subsequently served as a faculty member and Assistant Professor of Linguistics at Islamic Azad University, teaching undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral courses in linguistics and supervising numerous graduate theses and dissertations.

From 2024 to 2025, she was a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she conducted a historical study of the productivity of Persian word-formation processes. Her broader research interests center on Persian morphology and also include sociolinguistics, discourse analysis, and Persian language and literature.
