Professor Zohreh Mirsharif was born and raised in Tehran, Iran. She studied French literature at one of the best universities in Tehran and then went to France to participate in advanced training courses. She began her French teaching career before starting doctoral studies for which she did two internships in Paris, at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University (Paris III) to prepare her thesis. Later, she participated in different courses to improve her skills in teaching a foreign language. In the United States, she taught her first French courses at George Mason University and then at other universities in Washington D.C. In 2019, she started her training to teach Persian and had her first Persian course at Georgetown University. In 2021, she inaugurated Persian classes at American University for the Department of World Languages & Cultures. She currently teaches French and Persian at different universities in the Washington metropolitan area.
